Ahora, con el indecente furor de Facebook, escribir un blog es como volver al pasado, al mundo donde hay tantas voces que no sabemos cuál escuchar y a cuál hacer caso: coloco en san gúgul la frase "número de blogs en el mundo" y me aparece una noticia que Cinco días publicaba hace poco; una noticia según la cual una herramienta del grupo Nielsen llamada BuzzMetrics ya analiza 70 millones de blogs buscando la opinión de nosotros, los consumidores, y declara que por la red circulan tres mil millones (3.000.000.000) de comentarios. Qué barbaridad. En este vómito de opiniones, ¿cómo no refugiarse en la acogedora, averiguadora, excluyente, privada y voyerista red social del Facebook? Allí cada frase cuenta, cada comentario a una foto, cada mensaje, cada escrito en el muro, cada notificación, cada vez que digo en qué ando; todo eso cuenta porque sólo serán mis amigos los que lean mis palabras. En Facebook la gente es más fisgona e imprudente, sí, pero también es más gente, y eso es lo que tiene enganchados a una cantidad enorme de personas, quizá hartas al igual que yo de que los canales de televisión crean que somos tontos y nos inunden de publicidad. Asco, cómo odio la televisión de hoy en día, con las horas que llevo de vuelo televisivo. Y aunque sé que yo no estoy enganchado a feisbú, como todo buen adicto, ya tengo doscientos y pico de amigos, de muchos de los cuales no sabía nada desde 1984 y nos saludamos como si tal cosa. Me gusta Facebook por dos razones: porque sirve para saber dónde anda la gente que alguna vez se relacionó conmigo (pero sin atosigar, por favor), y porque las noticias y opiniones corren más ligeras de equipaje, sin censuras ni publicidad. En el fondo, creo que lo que buscan todas estas cosas de Internet, desde el añorado ICQ y los chats de Yahoo hasta el twitter, facebook y lo que venga, es sacar a flote la esencia de esta vaina: un lugar libre, sin puertas y donde la información llega limpia de maquillaje desde el que la emite hasta el que la recibe. Y la apariencia de eso engancha.
